Karen McHale is beginning her 4th year as a reading specialist and instructional coach at Middletown Prairie. This will be Mrs. McHale’s 22nd year of teaching. Through the years she has taught all grade levels Kindergarten through 5th grade. Karen and her husband Brendan live in Mahomet and they have four children; Catherine lives in Chicago and will pursue a 2nd Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Loyola, Nicholas married Autumn and they live in the Indianapolis area, Jack will be a Junior at Illinois State University, and Alex will be a Junior at MSHS. They also have a dog named Brixen Ivy. Brixen is a wonderful chocolate lab who loves swimming and the Chicago Cubs as much as the rest of the family.
In her free time, Karen loves to travel with her family, take Brixen on long walks, go to their family cabin to swim and read a book while on the water, and she enjoys a cup of coffee in the early mornings on her deck.
Mrs. McHale is looking forward to the start of a new school year and getting a chance to meet and work with new students at MPE.
