Mahomet-Seymour Family and Friends,
We are very excited to welcome our new librarian, Tracey Maxey, to Middletown Prairie Elementary School!
Tracey has been working really hard this summer, and she can't wait to welcome you into the library at MPE! Tracey taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade for 30 years in Urbana, but now she's ready to start the next wonderful chapter of her teaching career at MPE!
Reading books is one of her favorite thing to do! But, she also loves walking and petting her two English Cream Golden Retriever dogs. Tracey has one daughter that is 25 years old and lives two blocks away from her. They spend a lot of time laughing and talking over coffee. She also loves baking all kinds of breads, cookies, and other delicious yummies!
One of Tracey's passions is animal conservation. She loves watching live giraffe and hippo webcams from all around the world. It's so exciting to watch a baby giraffe being born! Tracey drove to New York state this summer to visit Johari and Oliver at Animal Adventure Park, and then she stopped by the Cincinnati Zoo to see the famous, fabulous Fiona the Hippo! She can't wait to share Fiona's story with all of the students at MPE!
Please feel free to stop by the library and say, "Hello!" Tracey is looking forward to getting to know all of you and sharing her love of reading with the students!
Welcome Tracey!
