Emily Buckius has been teaching in various early childhood settings since 2004. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in education at Indiana University. She began teaching in a preschool classroom, right after graduating, at The Child Development Laboratory on the University of Illinois campus. She taught there for about 8 years and while she was there, she completed her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. After teaching at The Child Development Lab, she taught in a pre-k classroom in the Georgetown-Ridge Farm School District for one year. She has been teaching pre-k in the Mahomet School District since the fall of 2013 and is so excited about this year and to work with you and your child.
Emily and her husband have been married for 11 years and have a son named Harrison who will be 7 in September. They also have a mini goldendoodle named Oliver. When she is not at school, she loves to spend time with her family and friends and enjoys traveling, going running, and working out.
