Emily Buckius is one of the Pre-K teachers at Middletown Prairie. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in education at Indiana University, and she has been teaching since 2004. She began teaching in a preschool classroom right after graduating. She worked at The Child Development Laboratory on the University of Illinois campus for about 8 years and while she was there, she completed her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education.
After teaching at The Child Development Lab, she taught in a Pre-K classroom in the Georgetown-Ridge Farm School District for one year. Mrs. Buckius has been teaching Pre-k in the Mahomet School District since the fall of 2013. She is very excited about this school year and working with you and your child. Mrs. Buckius and her husband have been married for 9 years and have a son named Harrison who will be 5 in September. She also has a dog named Oliver. When she is not at school she loves to spend time with her family, running, and working out.
